Music & Creative Arts
God is creative. Sunrises, mountain vistas, rivers, Great Lakes, laughter, color, music, art, all these things are reflections of His amazing and inspiring creativity. At Northeast, we value using the arts to help us remember the majesty of God, and to reflect on God’s principles, and to open ourselves up to his guidance. Through music, video, drama, dance, and other artistic mediums, we strive to help the weekly worship gathering being one that is relevant, inspiring to each of us.
Music:
The band at Northeast is made up of Northeast attenders who love music, and love to serve the church by using their musical gifts. We have an instrumental team, and a vocal team. These teams meet monthly for a rehearsal where they learn new music, connect with one another and just jam!
Video:
We are video culture. It’s just the way it is. At Northeast, we tap into that with excellent, relevant video. There are various ways video is used: with live music as a way to inspire, as a narrative/teaching tool as a way to challenge, and with our regular pastoral teaching as a way to help bring teaching to life. The Technical Team is primarily responsible for the video development at NC.
Drama:
Drama can be a powerful medium. A short vignette, a monologue, or other creative demonstrations can be insightful and packed with meaning and spiritual power.
Dance/Mime:
Dance and mime are two mediums of creativity that really speak to the heart. We use them several times a year.
Technical Arts:
The Tech team is the team that helps bring all the arts to life in our worship gatherings. Sound, lighting, and video techs work with the artists to help lead the congregation each week. This team of committed volunteers do an excellent and often unheralded job.
