Heartland - Safety Guidelines
Safety is important to us, and we know it’s important to you, too. Following are some guidelines we use to keep your child safe:
- Children are never left unattended. As much as possible, at least two caregivers are in the classroom at all times.
- Children who have been checked-in to a Heartland class are not allowed to roam the church alone.
- Parents are welcome to check on their children in the classroom. We ask that you simply check in to the Welcome Desk first if service is in session.
- Preschoolers use the child-size restroom located between the two classrooms.
- Children in grades one through three are escorted to the restroom, and adults wait outside the restroom door.
- Rooms are checked each week for potential hazards such as inappropriate toys, uncovered outlets, etc.
- Toys are washed on a regular basis.
- Changing pads are cleaned after each diaper change.
- Every adult volunteer must complete a Volunteer Application and undergo a criminal history check with the appropriate authorities.
- If you are needed during the worship gathering, the last three digits of your child’s security code (found on their name badge) will appear in the lower corner of the auditorium screens.
