Help for Haiti
The Need

The earthquake devastation in Haiti is overwhelming and we know Northeast members want to reach out and help. Marty and Melissa Upchurch, members of Northeast, have connections with an orphanage in Port au Prince. Ruuska Village is home to 50 children and a dozen foster mothers; the compound suffered extensive damage and the orphanage’s food supply was lost.

How You Can Help
Northeast is accepting financial donations, either via check (payable to Northeast) or online, for Ruuska Village. All funds donated will go directly to the orphanage. There are also items the orphanage has requested (see below). We do have the ability to get the items shipped to Port au Prince. A donation box will be available in the Northeast lobby if you would like to donate any of the following items:
- Diapers
- Infant formula (soy based, powder)
- Baby cereal
- Baby food
- Diarrhea medicine
- Peanut butter
- Duct tape
- Vitamins (any age)
- Rope
