Child Dedication

A child is a blessing and a God-given trust (Psalm 127:3). At NECC, child dedication is a wonderful ceremony that signifies your commitment to uphold that trust. It is an event that symbolizes your pledge to raise your child in an enviroment where he or she can come to know, love, and serve Jesus. It also signifies a commitment by the Northeast Community to provide a loving, biblical community that supports and prays for your family.

Child dedication is not the same as baptism. We believe that baptism is a public statement of faith that can be made only by someone who has personally believed in Christ. If you or your child have received Christ and would like to be baptized, please see our Baptism webpage.

In preparation for this event, there is a class offered to parents. While not mandatory, it is highly recommended.  We cover the biblical foundation for valuing both dedication and the role as parent.  The date and time for the next class can be found with information on our next dedication.

Dedications are normally held during the regular church service on Mother's Day and the second Sunday in December.  If you have never had your child dedicated, and would like to do so,  please click here.

If you need more information on Child Dedication at NECC, please contact the Children's Pastor Heather Hacker at heather@northeastcc.org.
